The Only Yellow Wine Among China’s “Eight Famous Wines”
In September 1952, the first nationwide wine appraisal conference, organized by the China National Special Products Corporation, was officially convened. It was the first national-level wine evaluation event in Chinese history. Tens of thousands of wineries and companies across the country submitted their samples, with a total of 103 entries participating in the final review.
After professional assessment and tasting by expert judges, the following products were awarded the title of China’s “Eight Famous Wines”: Shanxi Fenjiu, Kweichow Moutai, Shaanxi Xifengjiu, Luzhou Laojiao, Changyu Red Wine, Changyu Gold Award Brandy, Changyu Vermouth, and Shaoxing Jian Lake Changchun Wine.
Notably, Shaoxing Jian Lake Changchun Wine was brewed by Yunji Winery, the predecessor of today’s Kuaijishan.
